Let us not pretend otherwise, you are here because it is blue. That is completely fine. The Blue Daiquiri is the drink that makes everyone at the table look up and ask what you are having, and then order one themselves. Ours is rum, blue curaçao and citrus, blended in small batches at our place in Manchester and poured out of the can the exact colour of a holiday you have not booked yet.

It Tastes Better Than It Looks, Which Is Saying Something

The blue is the hook. The reason people come back is what is underneath it. Clean white rum, proper lime sharpness, and the orange note that blue curaçao actually is once you get past the colour. It finishes dry rather than sweet, which is the thing most blue drinks get wrong, they treat the colour as the whole personality and forget to put a cocktail behind it.

A Daiquiri, Not a Blue Lagoon

Worth clearing up, because people mix these two constantly. A Blue Lagoon is vodka and lemonade. A Blue Daiquiri is a proper daiquiri, rum and lime, with blue curaçao doing the colour and the orange. Ours is firmly the second one, which is why it tastes like a cocktail rather than a soft drink that has been got at.

Cans, or the Bottle

The 200ml cans come as an 8 pack for the fridge or a 24 pack when there is a garden party, a birthday or a long hot weekend on the horizon. Each can is a finished cocktail, so there is no measuring and nothing to add but ice.

The 700ml bottle pours seven serves at a standard 100ml measure. If you are making a jug for a crowd, pour the bottle over a jug of ice and drop in a few lime wheels, it looks ridiculous in the best possible way. And if the group cannot agree on anything, the taster pack puts eight Boozy flavours in one box and ends the debate.

How to Serve It

Cold, and in something clear. This is the one drink in our range where the glass genuinely matters, because half the pleasure is looking at it. A coupe, a tumbler, a jam jar, anything see-through. Plenty of ice, a wedge of lime on the rim, and you are done. It photographs absurdly well, which your friends will discover the moment you hand them one.

How Strong Is It?

The cans and the bottle are both 8.4% ABV, which is about 1.7 UK units per 200ml can and around 5.9 units in the full 700ml bottle. Easy-drinking does not mean weak, so it is worth knowing the numbers. Our Cocktail ABV Calculator will tell you how that compares with a daiquiri shaken at home.

Small Batch, Made By Us

We blend and fill every can and bottle ourselves in Manchester. Same few people, same kit, same obsessive tasting sessions. Getting a blue drink to taste properly grown-up took more attempts than any other flavour in the range, and we are quietly proud of where it landed.

Rather Make Your Own?

Fair enough. My Blue Daiquiri recipe walks you through the build if you have got rum and curaçao in the cupboard. And when you would rather just open something cold and blue, the cans are on our ready to drink cocktail cans page along with the rest of the range.

Blue Daiquiri FAQs

What makes it blue?

Blue curaçao, which is an orange liqueur that happens to be bright blue. The colour comes from the curaçao rather than anything added afterwards, and it is where the subtle orange note in the flavour comes from too.

What does blue curaçao actually taste like?

Sweet orange, a bit like a softer triple sec. People expect it to taste of raspberry or bubblegum because of the colour, then get a pleasant surprise.

Is a Blue Daiquiri the same as a Blue Lagoon?

No. A Blue Lagoon is vodka based and lengthened with lemonade. A Blue Daiquiri is rum and lime with blue curaçao, so it is sharper, stronger in character and far more of a proper cocktail.

How many serves in the 700ml bottle?

Seven at a standard 100ml pour. Keep it chilled and serve over ice in the clearest glass you own.
